This event is open to all Scouts BSA who are at least 13 years old.

There will be no refunds and no waiting list due to the limited capacity of each merit badge.

Scouts will need to get a blue card from their unit leader and bring it to the event. They will not be available at the merit badge clinic.

Supplies Scouts need to gather:

• Scouts should get a copy of the latest printing of the Merit Badge Book and read it before the class
• Consider utilizing the WORKSHEET to document your activities and information learned prior to clinic as they must be presented to the counselor in writing / Typing.
• Bring a chess board if you have one.

Pre-requisites:

• Any requirement for "Discuss", prepare a written outline for discussion with a leader
• Any Requirement with "Explain", prepare a written explanation/description for review with a leader
• For requirement 6, class will do 6c part (1): Organize and run a chess tournament with at least four players, plus you.
• For requirement 6c, Scouts will be required to attend the competition at a later date for part (2): Have each competitor play at least two games. Games take a few hours sometimes, so will need to do that separately.

Class Schedule: 8:30am - 2:30 pm

Follow-up Homework:

• Any of the prerequisites that are not done before class.
• Anything not completed in class due to attending late or leaving early.
