Red Arrow District Klondike Derby at Camp Oh-Da-Ko-Ta

Check in is from 7:30 am to 8:45 am and event begins at 9:00 am concludes no later than 3:00 pm.

Fee includes lunch and a patch.

Equipment List:

Sleds (can have wheels as backup if there is no snow)
1 - Heavy Blanket / Sleeping Bag
3 Poles  - 8-10 ft. long, 2-4 in diameter
1 - Ax (full or ¾)
1 - Hand Ax / Hatchet
Matches (no lighter)
Kindling/Tinder (Wood/Natural material only - NO CHEMICAL)
Alternative Fire Starting Tools (No lighter;  Flint/Steel, Fire By Friction, etc)
1 - Compass (Military Lensatic, Silva - good compass)
Snow Snake (at least one per patrol)
3 pieces rope - ¼-⅜” x 6 ft. long (min)
3 pieces rope - ¼-½” x 30 ft. long (min)
10x10 plastic/canvas tarp
Blind fold (1 per scout)
Facemasks (1 per scout to be worn for COVID protocol)
Totin’ Chip (All Scouts that have)
Water (1 reusable bottle per scout)
Soup - 1 can per scout (No Tomato;  No Cream soup;  No ramen noodles)
Boots (NO Tennis Shoes!)
Appropriate Clothes (SPL is responsible - Scouts not in appropriate clothes will be sent home)
