Mr. Schroeder joined Kanwa tho Lodge in 2015 and was awarded the Vigil Honor in 2023. His service to the Order of the Arrow extends from his youth as chapter secretary and ceremonialist to his current role as Vigil Adviser. Mr. Schroeder completed his Ordeal in 1993 and sealed his membership in 1994 with Tom Kita Chara Lodge. Mr. Schroeder is an Eagle Scout who has been involved in Scouting for more than 40 years. He has served as an Assistant Scoutmaster, Cub Scout Den Leader, Assistant Cubmaster, and Cub Scout Committee Chair. Mr. Schroeder and his partner, Cassandra, are the proud parents of two Eagle Scouts, both members of Crew 595. In speaking with him regarding his new role, Mr. Schroeder noted that this is an interesting and exciting time for our Lodge. The Order of the Arrow is experiencing a time of transition with major changes, including the introduction of the new induction experience, and he is optimistic about what the future holds for the Order. While change is never easy, he said, it provides us with a mountain of opportunities to build upon the traditions of our lodge and support Scouting. Kanwa tho Lodge is incredibly grateful for the leadership of Vicki Dubis as Lodge Adviser since January 2023. Mrs. Dubis’ service has been marked by her steady guidance and passion for the mission of the Order of the Arrow. Her commitment to excellence and spirit of cheerful service have left a lasting impact on Kanwa tho Lodge. Mrs. Dubis will continue as Lodge Adviser through the end of May, and she will serve as the Lodge’s Contingent Adviser for the 2027 National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
