It is hard to believe that another year has come and is just about gone. This year has seen its fair share of challenges, but more importantly successes; there are too numerous to mention each individually.

 

We finished 2012 as a Gold District on the Journey to Excellence scale, and are poised to do so again for the third year in a row! We held four outstanding district events that included an Iditarod themed Klondike without snow and our district Pinewood Derby with more than eighty participants. We awarded the 2013 “Good Scout” Award to an outstanding recipient, Steen Sanderhoff, at the 2013 Lighthouse District Leadership Luncheon. Every one of these successes is due to the outstanding effort and leadership of every Unit Leader, Unit Commissioner, and District Committee Member. These are the people who truly make Scouting the phenomenal program that it is. I ask everyone to please join me in thanking everyone who helps provide the Scouting program to the youth of our community!  It’s a great day for Scouting!
