Dear Scout Leaders and Parents:
With the improvements in case rates in our area and the recently announced new mask guidelines from the CDC, Three Harbors Council is updating COVID-19 guidance for Scout meetings and camp facilities effective March 1st. For indoor mask use at Scout meetings and activities, please follow the CDC’s newly released guidelines which has county by county recommendations. Since Three Harbors Council serves three counties, please check the CDC website to determine the current policy for your community.
We will continue to follow the guidance from expert agencies and follow the measures that have become second nature to many – hand hygiene, social distancing, and remaining at home if you have symptoms or feel unwell. Here is an overview of the COVID-19 safety guidelines currently in place in our council:
Scout Meetings & Activities
Scout leaders should follow local health guidelines for all Scouting activities. For indoor meetings and activities, we will follow the CDC’s latest guidelines regarding masks. Individual participants in Scouting activities may choose to mask at any time. Scouts, leaders, or family members with symptoms or a positive test should not attend Scouting events. Be sure to check with your chartered organization or meeting location regarding their COVID-19 policies.
Camp Facilities
Effective March 4th, the cabins at both camps will return to 100% capacity. All overnight campers, including adults, will be required to pass a COVID-19 self-health assessment, and cabin campers must complete a waiver form before arriving at camp. The indoor mask policy for the camps will follow the CDC’s current guidelines for the county where each camp is located. Indian Mound Scout Reservation is in Waukesha County and Camp Oh-Da-Ko-Ta straddles two counties, but the camp buildings are all in Kenosha County. While outdoors at camp, face masks are not required.
Council Service Center & Scout Shop
Visitors to the Milwaukee and Kenosha Service Centers & Scout Shops are asked to follow the CDC’s current mask guidance. We ask that unvaccinated visitors please wear face masks for the safety of our staff and other visitors.
Please visit www.ThreeHarborsScouting.org for upcoming activities at our Scout camps as well as virtual advancement opportunities. Thank you for all you are doing to keep our Scouts safe and the program fun and rewarding for the youth we serve
